Post subject: | Pic Request: Wiring Thru Firewall |
Finally getting around to wiring my KC's, but I'm still stuck on how to run wires for the switch inside the cabin. Can anybody offer suggestions, pictures preferred! I was thinking of running them thru the same little rubber boot the hood latch cable goes thru, if I could get them jammed in there and pull out the other side. I have a few of these nice grommets from previous installs that I could also use, problem is there isn't enough room under the hood or dash to fit a drill! ![]() |

I will have to get you a picture, but of you look over at the passenger side of the KK, Look down by the exhaust header and by the O2 sensor, there is a boot that you can use that drop in just below the HVAC system inside the cab below the glove box. I cut a slit in the rubber and ran my wires through. The I used some black RTV to reseal the boot. I will get you a picture in just a few |

I ran mine threw the grommet, the main wiring harness passes threw, by the steering wheel. It is 2 sided and worked great. View from the engine compartment, just under the brake booster. ![]() View from the inside next to the clutch pedal. Just above and to the left is the other one mentioned by Boblemoche. ![]() I uses an awl to poke a small hole and pressed the wires threw. Then I put the switches in the little compartment on the dash to the left of the steering wheel. ![]() |

Thanks, I can be clumsy sometimes. This way I won't accidentally turn them on while on the road. lol |
