Got my KK back

Got my Jeep back today from the body shop. We tried to add tow hooks on the repair bill but the $400 cost to the insurance when they had pictures without the hooks we didn't think was going to fly too much,

but there is a piece I got that I didn't know about.

It came with the new bumper cover and is a pretty nice lower grill piece that has cut outs for the tow hooks, you want pictures you are gonna have to wait because that is what we do around here.

Fancy, but I dunno. I think the open looks a little better. Don't suppose you happen to have a printoff of all the parts they used so you could hook us up with a part number?

Took a look at the detailed of all the parts and can't figure out if that part was separate. My brother in law said it came as part of the bumper cover and frankly there was no way to know that it wasn't origianly there.

Granted I know it wasn't there to begin with. So the #s that I have with bumper being part of it are:

Cover, Front Bumper 68033628AC
Absorber, Front Bumper 57010120AB

I will say I didn't see it in the PDF for the 2008 model that is posted on here. But it is alot of pages to look at and I might have missed it.

08 and 09 are different.

The part number for the 08 bumper is
68036212AA - Premium (Limited)
68033628AA - Lowline (Sport)

My 09' doesn't have that fancy lower grill. Maybe it is the upcoming 2010 bumper...

The part number that wingnuts listed, 68033628AC, comes back to a 2009 Jeep Liberty SPORT. Wingnuts has a Sport and that's why he got that bumper.

When you search the part number I listed, 68036212AA, it comes back to 2008 Jeep Liberty LIMITED which is what I have. Part number 68033628AA comes back to a 2008 Jeep Liberty SPORT. 2008 only had 2 models, Sport and Limited.

Jonny5 I see that you have the Rocky Mountain edition, you might have a different bumper then the Sport.

For 2009 the Liberty has 3 model's ... Sport, Rocky Mountain & Limited Edition. Each model has their "model specific" options, that bumper might only be for the Sport model.

All the information is great, but I have yet to see this piece on any Liberty of KK decent of any year, regards of what model it is.

granted when I finally get my hands on some tow hooks and install them I will get a better look at this piece, but from what my brother in law is telling me this piece is alot more than what you see in the picture there is alot of it that goes behind the bumper cover.

He said it is all part of the crash plastics that are behind the bumper cover which makes me want to know, did Chrysler change something after crash testing to save a couple of bucks by not putting this piece in and therefore we don't have the stock crash protection that was tested on the vehicle?

I'm off work tomorrow ... I'm going to go to my local Jeep dealership and look at the bumpers on the lot. I'll see if any have that and which models have it.
