on re doing my interior :shock:

yeah i know you're all thinking... " the car is brand new" but out of curiousity i wanted to get a price on what it would cost do do the interior in black... dye the leather seats black and do blue stitching. black carpet, dynomat the entire thing, by all the paneling,trim etc in black except for chrome pieces, and maybe do a black suede head liner :roll:

... haha. It really irrates me that the new 2010 comes with the option for basically an all black interior( except headliner). so let's see what it would cost to dye everything etc. if i get a quote under 1000, it might be a plausible update int he future... maybe they will cut me a deal if i do my underglow and interior lighting, train horn and backupc am wiring through them? hmmmmm the possibilities!

i luck out cause here on long island we have what's called AUTOMAT.... the place is pretty well known so i sent the inquiry there... the e-mail requested just the dying the the trim to black, maybe dying the leather n redoing the stitching, new carpet and dynamat... the headliner and liner for the skyslider.

So i got a question for you digger, it's about the dash assembly... the backlight is orginally white, any way to change that?

just FYI
09 and 10 both come with all black interior... mine's that way =)

Ive seen on ebay the seat covers from 09 KKs.... all black with white stitching and the JEEP logo on it.
they start at 200....
just be patient and do a search on ebay

I'd be very surprised if all that work comes in at under $1,000. Enough sound deadener to do the floors will be over $100. Want the doors done too? More $... http://www.secondskinaudio.com/vibratio ... lifier.php I used this stuff in my Cutlass, 40 sq ft kit was enough to do the whole floor. SUV will need more.

You can dye the vinyl parts too, instead of buying from Mopar. That will save some money.

Unless you can sew (for the blue stitching), I'd say you can do what you want for $1,000 assuming you do all the labor. That's what is gonna kill your budget.

Hopefully I'm wrong, a black interior would be sweet.

They were used a lot on chargerforums.com and people were happy with the product...

well the dynamat i would really like to do the doors and the floor... and if that costs me 200 i'm okay with that... as far as the seats i was looking into getting the katzin leather covers ( figure 300)... and i know you can choose the outer and inner colors. the floor mat or carpet to have that all done with the basic stuff just black in color should be relatively cheap, the suede headliner ... well i might have to settle for something else haha... dying all the interior parts should e expensive as far as materials its just all labor... figure 800 material and another 800 labor for a high ball estimate... i mean i want to get a buncha of things done so i think they might cut me a deal if i walk in and say hey here's 2 grand let's do some work haha ( again this is all theoretical as of right now because i do not have the money)

so i just did a search katzkin seats are pretty expensive haha.. we'll see this might be a step at a time type of this... but to start definitely want to do the dynamat padding and paint the interior black... and i can buy some cheap 20 dollar seat covers for now... haha

about painting the interior black:
Ive heard horror stories of painting the interior and paint peeling, plastic deforming and the like from members on chargerforums.com....
I remember at least 3 guys ruining their interior door panels and having to buy some new ones.... so just a word of advice, be careful, and its always best to try on one door and use it for a week, and then if satisfied go to the other doors.

but yeah, you have something good going there =)
