Post subject:  Search - dangit - skid plate question

So i did the search, but came up with every post in here that has "skid plate" in it.

Eventually I used up my search coupons, and was told to go away. :)

Anyway, in what order does one need to adhere to when purchasing/installing skid plates? I know that some bolt on top of others, if I got my memory straight.

I have a deal on a transfer case skid waiting.

-Thanks.

The Tank and Transfer Case are Stand Alone, Thhe Transmission one installs then the Engine One goes over that where they meet. If you get the Radiator Skid Plate that also needs to be install with The Engine Plate. Let me know if this doesnt make sense

Just as a note when i ordered it the parts guy said the part number changed to like AA instead of AB. It was off by like 2 characters but he was able to get it. It was about 60 bucks total for the plate, bolts and rivets

Thanks Elt :). Now I have to go spend $60 on something I didn't even know existed until 10 minutes ago

The total for the other 4 plates is a little
over $400 I think if you pay Msrp

Just found it in the parts manual  Stupid location... they list all of the other skids in different places, THEN get the bright idea to list them on the same page.... :x

I know this is an old post, but do you need to remove front bumper for the radiator plate, or is it just bolt on with the parts listed above?

No need to remove the front bumper to install the radiator skin. It bolts to the front crossmember using nutzerts (IIRC) and to the front of the engine skid.

Awesome, thank you!

Did you use a rivet gun for the nutserts or did you make your own tool?

Post subject:  Re: Search - dangit - skid plate question

I ordered accessory kits for the other skid plates, and so the skids came with bolts and nutzerts and a tool that you could use to install (squish) the nutzerts into the frame rails by turning a bolt with a ratchet.

The radiator skid was a replacement part not an accessory kit so i had to get nutzerts and bolts for it separately.

Perfect, I got the bolts and nutserts for the radiator one and assuming I should get the same tool with the other ones - they are shipped and on there way. Thanks again!!!
