My Brakes are squealing at 25,000 Miles Any Ideas? 08 Limited 4x4. There is no grinding noise, just a light squealing. But not every time I hit the brakes. If I give it alot of brake it does not make a sound. Just coming to a stop from 20mph to zero. I thought my brakes would last more than 25,000. I live in FL. No hills to wear them out. Any Ideas? |

Your driving style dictates how long your brakes last.I've changed front brakes on a ''09 Caravan already with 17,000miles,needed new rotors and pads(metal to metal contact). |

My rotors were warped at 17000 miles on my 2008 Liberty. Just got them replaced. Not an aggressive driver, nor live where it's hilly. I've owned about 10 cars in my life. This is the first one I've had to replace brakes on so soon |

it is simple.. you need a brake inspection. have the looked at... The rears are most likly ready to be repleaced... OR there is build of brake dust that needs to be cleaned.. If you want your brake to last the longest you have to do this. it is allot of work... Every 5K miles when you rotate the tires, you need to clean and lube the brakes. Remove the pads and clean them and all the moving parts. This will help give you allot of extra life. But no everyone will do this. heck i do not now. i did it for 12 years when i had access to a lift and air tools. it helped allot. |

The rear breaks are known to have a short life span. Some have said there rear's were gone at 7K. Mine are gone at 20K. My fronts according to my dealer still have 60% life left. |
