Post subject:  09 Liberty Squeak Creak Noise Interior

So I have had this Squeak Creak Noise whatever you want to define it as.

This has been persistent from when I first purchased the Liberty in February. Over the months I have tried to determine what it was.

So far I thought it might be the hard drive on the radio, speakers, door, and seats.

First time it was in the check the radio, works fine no problems.

Second time it was in the seats were greased up works fine.

Third time it was in to see if a tech could isolate the sound, can't hear anything.

Fourth time it was in the service manager wen't along to see if he could isolate the sound, he heard it. On this visit it was isolated to the front seats and console area. The fix insulate the door bezels better works fine no problems ... !agh! insulate the door bezels the sound is coming from the seats and console area !agh! ...

So on the drive home the noise continues. I called this morning (7:30 AM) and am still waiting for a call back as to when I can set an appointment, this is even after a second call at 3:30 PM.

Let me ask this, has anyone had an issue with squeaks, creaks or noises from the interior?

Yes,my wifes KK was driving me nuts the last 2 days.I usually drive so I didnt pay attention so much, but the last two days as a passenger,I couldn't believe all the sqeaks and rattles.I found one to be the glove box, plus like you there was also sound in the console area.I even remarked that this sounds like a '88 instead of a '08.If you hear anything I would appreciate what you find out.Im glad I have my own ride.

i have a small squeak in my 08 once in a while. well i dont notice it to often, usually im cruising with the windows down or radio up anyway. doesnt bother me much though. the way i see it is that its a jeep and not a rover, you get what you pay for.

i have a horribly loud rattle at high speeds above the glove box. Im going to try and take apart the dash to find it, i hope i find it :(. Also the center console has a small rattle in, im thinking of taking it apart and putting like thin rubber around all the edges from home depot or something similar to prevent any noise

Same here, ever since adding my 245 75 R 16 MTRs with Kevlar I noticed a harmonic form glove box area I never heard before with stock tires/rims. My seats squeak, lubed both, even added 2 nuts on driver cuz there was only 2 where passenger had 4, still does it. Also my front doors move within their jambs when shut going over off camber bumps etc. Still working on getting things checked off the to do list.

After the rear-ending a few weeks ago, I have a new squeak inside, by the rear gate. I don't care really, it reminds me that it survived with just a few scratches. And then I smile :)

I HAD a squeek in mine - well, still do from time to time.

Only happens when somebody's in the passenger seat.

Solution? 18mm (i think) socket & ratchet, and tighten down the bolts holding the seat down. They seem to work their way loose sometimes, and produce a squeek when the passenger get's tossed around (bumps in the road, turning etc.).

If they work their way loose again, I'm thinking about taking the bolts right out and lock-titeing them.

Brother-in-law has a Rover that has been broken into three times now (smash and grab) last time in front of Chuckie Cheese at 1:30 in the afternoon  He was complaining that the drive home was crazy noisy  By the way the rover is not that impressive.

Plastic interior = squeaks, more so when it get's colder. No way around it,turn up the radio. It's a $20,000 Jeep and not a hand built $500,000 Bentley.

Glad I'm almost legally deaf and have to have the stereo cranked,I'd probably s#%t myself with all the squeaks and rattles in my '02 KJ.

Just the suspension,I'm sure the interior has some rattles and squeaks but I couldn't care less about those.
