Post subject:  2 KK twins for sale!
2009 Silver and Sandstone KKs for sale one with 13000 miles the other with just about 4000 miles.
Why am I selling them you ask?
Well, some of you know some of you dont, but Im currently working in mexico.... and my brother's about to finish his studying in here.
Things down here ARE JUST CRAZY: Drug cartels are fighting mexico's navy and army every day. AND GUESS WHAT:
the "Z's" and the golf cartel just LOVE to steal nitros and libertys..... but not just steal from a parking lot, they will do anything just to get them...

Our kks have been parked for about two weeks. We go here and there using a taxi or sometimes public transportation.

I think Im going to replace our KKs with honda civics or VW golfs. those are HUGE letdowns for the bad guys.

I have a couple of questions though:
BOTH KKs are identical (except for the VIN # of course)... I paid full retail for them. They were custom built for us and have every possible option on them except for the towing package. Just read my signature.

Should I trade them in?
Should I post them on ebay?
how much should I expect if I trade in or how much should I ask for them?
Is anyone here interested on getting one? or both? :roll:

Im very sad... really... our family is worried sick... they keep telling us to go back to the US... but I still have a lot of things to finish here (I have to get married here first and then ask for a resident visa for my wife to be, my brother needs to finish school... we must stay here till 2010 finishes.. so yeah, we NEED cars!)
any advise would be greatly appreciated

my suggestion? if your only there a year... it might sound crazy but un register em... take off the plates... hide em in a garage or something and tell no one you got em... buy a hunk of crap civic or something for 1000 bucks and beat on it for the next few months til you can get the hell outta there... and be safe man... honestly i see your point and you dont wanna get harmed for your vehicle so if it means you have to sell it, do so... but it would be a shame to lose those two vehicles.

the reason i say get another car is cause your gunna lose more money on your KK then is even worth it... dropping a grand on a piece of junk car for 100 bucks is better then losing 3000-5000 on the trade in value

change you insurance to make it a pleasure vehicle, then get a beater.......

You are never going to get back what ya got in to them. You will end up sucking wind on trade in values at the dealer and trying to sell them isn't going to happen in the current state of this country...

I agree. It depends on how long you need to stay but you could talk to your ins co. and say your car will be in storage for a few month, Geico did this w me and I had a very minimal premium for an amount of time and then when I got back I put it on. They did verify my mileage over the phone before and after. If not sell it, Craigslist, ebay, ect. problem is on trade in you get crap, and on selling it your self you get hosed w the taxes, if you trade it you get a little bit of a tax break. Well, it's going to be a hard decision, oh and if trading I would get all the extra stuff you have done to it and go back to stock, you can sell them here and get more than what they would give you. I had a dealer tell me that some thing I had done to my Scion TC would not increase the value and in any case it could reduce it cause the market would be smaller. Some of the mods were custom fit leather interior, that if I had not tell him they were not factory he would not have known (my mistake on opening my mouth) another one was the K&N Cold Air intake. What the :furious: how will that reduce my value, that is when I said well give me a day or so and I will bring you my trade bone stock or give me what I'm asking on trade which was around 500. over trade in value. Moral of my extended story be very careful.

also with posting your vehicle for sale you need to be careful i mean, the internet can easily be traced back to you... which could increase your problem... heck people might see it for sale and wanna meet then hold you up for it... just be careful

I'd make a run for the border and leave the KKs with family in the US. Get a beatermobile or two that work ok then head back.

Wow guys! thanks for your support! It is a hard decision.........
Regarding the insurance, I just pay liability... since progressive insurance will not work in mexico, I just pay liability and bought full insurance here in mexico for the KKs.

I might make a run for the border and as mentioned, leave the kks with the family, and then get back with a crappy car. I guess I have till friday to make my decision.

Just a quick fact: Mexico was a very nice place to live and settle... I loved the people here, HECK! I even fell for a Mexican lady!
so sad to see that the drug cartels are destroying this country.

So, just out of curiosity: what is the local media (in your state obviously) saying about mexico?
Did you guys hear about the students that were killed by crossfire between gang members and the army at the itesm? the itesm is one of the most prestigious (if not the most) university here in mexico. It also happens to be the school that my bro's attending to. I also graduated from law school there.
Anyhow, what is the buzz in your state regarding mexico?

well, I live in California, and we have a huge Mexican population here. I know that a lot of them are in denial about what is happening in Mexico. It's not hard to figure out though, when you hear about over 8,000 people being killed in the Juarez area by drug cartels last year. Think about that.... we've been at war in Iraq for 7 years, and we've lost a little over 3,000 troops in that war.. almost 3 times that many were killed by thugs and punks in one area of Mexico last year.

I know the local news was saying that the state department had issued a travel warning for Mexico also.

I have some Mexican coworkers. Some of them are in denial. I even had one of them tell me that there is no such things as gangs in Mexico, that the gangs are all in south america or the U.S. ........... ummmmmmmmm, ok, so you don't call them gangs down there, you call them cartels... what's the difference? Other of my coworkers tell me that the corruptions down there starts with the president and goes down.. i.e. everyone is corrupt. I can believe that, when I hear the local news talk about soldiers in the Mexican army quitting and going to work for the cartels, they pay more.

I got sick with it when i saw on the news here that they ran down a couple with a 1 year old baby and killed them just bc they where from the U.S....now that pisses me off but i cant do anything about it..I think the U.S. needs to do a better job at the boarder stop spending money over seas and take care of whats happening on your own darn land!!

I am in the US Navy, and we just got a message from up above wanting to know where all the service members and familys were if they were in Mexico and they wanted 100% accountability. Things are getting very serious down there but being from South Texas (6 miles from Rio Grande) things havent been good over there for a very long time. Good luck getting the KK's back to the US and Glad to hear your taking one for the team, Mexican women are the best! I married one to.

1. Get LoJack's installed! I cannot stress this enough for any vehicle! :evil:
2. Build a bomb shelter.
3. Store Jeeps inside.
4. Buy two rust-colored Civics.
5. Enjoy Mexico (or what's left of it).



On the flip side, you could just store them in a super reputable facility. If there are any.
