ive been looking on-line now since i bought my kk back in november for a solution on mounting aftermarket fog lamps......i i believe ive found my solution... the steelcraft or aries (i believe they are both exactly the same) grille guard in black....... does anyone have experience or any input on my decision? as good as this forum is and the internet in general it's very difficult to find aftermarket stuff for this vehicle. |

I have a Westin Bully Bar...just because that's all I could find two years ago...Let me know if you buy it and how your experience is. I'm intersted in the rear bumper guard and maybe the grille guard... ![]() |

They will work good for the application you are looking for, but be away that you will loose your two hooks if you have then and you can not use the bar as a recovery point.............. |

I wasn't aware of the Aries. All I've quickly found on it is this webpage. Have your found a webpage that has installation instructions and/or a photo of it installed on a KK? If so, then we can get it added to our (slowly) growing thread of KK aftermarket parts/suppliers. |

I just found this page of install instructions for the Aries brush guard and it basically identical, including using the exact same photos, as the Steelcraft install instructions. Obviously they're the same product so either one company is making them under private label for the other (which happens all the time in manufacturing) or the companies are related (e.g. one a business unit of the other) or something. Dang, I was hoping we had a new option in the KK aftermarket, but it doesn't seem so. ![]() |

I got 4 KC Daylighters on my basket, and they rock! i think the Hella 500s are slimmer, but i like the more rugged look the Daylighters have. Plus, KCs were made for Jeeps! ![]() im about to put some more lights on my bumper but i cant decide if i wanna do another set of the daylighters or maybe a pair of the KC Slimlites so they wont seem so obtrusive. |

I have the steelcraft grill, its nice, dont try to push anything with it... had an accident and the bar caused more damage to the car then if i didnt have it. Ripped the entire piece it mounts to below the bumper, sliced through the bumper and radiator mounts. $5000 repair ty geico. I replaced the bar anyway because it looks good ![]() ![]() |

Jeepin_it_real wrote: in front if the radiator is that the item the jeep website calls " Increased cooling" for the towing package? The heavy duty cooling that comes with the OEM tow package means you have both a mechanical cooling fan (run off the engine) and an electric cooling fan that cycles on demand. |

I am having some trouble removing the bottom plastic vent where the bottom brackets secure onto. if someone could give a heads up on how to get these brackets installed it would make my night go a lot smoother |

Hi LibertyRS, That black plastic vent under the bumper is actually part of the plastic cushioning behind your bumper skin. It isn't a separate part that can be removed. You could cut it out, though. I'm not sure what year Jeep added that; my '08 is open underneath the bumper and you can see the power steering cooler through there. If you need to remove your bumper to do any modifications, here is a thread I used recently when I installed KJ tow hooks. It's not from our forum, but it was written by one of our own, Diggerfreek: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/kk-liberty-front-bumper-removal-741659/ Good luck, --LFH |
