Looks great tallblondeygirl. I really like the black on black. I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but I'm not sure about blacking out the headlights on a silver jeep with nothing else black on it...

Try making them silver, instead of black.

I would think silver would be to close to the stock look to be worth the hassle...

I was thinking the same thing. I may paint the whole grill black if I decide to do the headlights. I've seen someone else on here who did that. Don't recall who

I dont think the silver with black would be too bad. Yours mirrors, side plastics and tires all black so it should blend pretty well. I had a silver Audi TT with black headlights. Looked pretty sharp. Just my two penny's.

The blacked out bezels give the Jeep an awesome look, and one I'd like to have. I'm just not confident enough to do the job myself, so I don't know if I'll ever get it done.

I was the same way. But It actually turned out to be fairly easy. You just need time and patience and someone to help :D

Did you remove the fog light assembly when you did yours?

No, you don't have to remove the foglights. You just take out the chrome piece around the lights and paint it.

Would you happen to have any info on the fog lights you used?

Well, I don't remember what brand they are, but I picked them up at NAPA (very cheap) and I wouldn't recommend them. They get water in them very easily. Eventually they are getting replaced for a better set.

Gotcha! :) Planning on ordering my off road lights this month as well as the wrangler hood bar, but saw you had mounted yours on the lower vent. Planning on hopefully painting my headlights this weekend and then debating on painting the grill myself or having someone do it professionally.

I've been wanting to do this for a while so I finally took the plung today. I wasn't too crazy about how the chrome looked with the blue. Next weekend I will be doing the turn signals and tails. At some point in the near future I think I may want to hit the lights with another coat. They look good, but I'm kind of a perfectionist and there is a spot or two I think could have used a 3rd coating. It not obvious unless you have you face up to the houseing though. I also, gave her a bath and wax while I was at it! :JEEPIN:

Sorry, I didn't take any picture of the inside process. I was too crazy struggling with the adhesive, even after 13 min at 300. What I did find helpful though was letting them cool completely once taken apart then getting the old adhesive out. I pried one end with a screw driver and then was pretty easily able to pull almost all the glue out on them after a few tried. I liked the idea of using new adhesive rather than reheating the old and hoping it sealed good. Like mentioned previously didn't want any water to get in.

What you guys think?

Has anyone tried doing a body-color matching bezel paint job? I think dark green on the bezels would be awesome on my dark green jeep. I'm just not ready to start removing and baking my lights. Not yet anyway.

On page one and two there are 2 posters that used their actual body color. One is white and the other is blue.

Did my headlights today. The first headlight was pretty tough, but I got the hang of it and only had to put the second one in the oven twice. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.

Just tried doing mine and now it looks like I'm gonna have to pay for a new headlight. I did exactly what the how to said and when I took it out of the oven the plastic lense had all little cracks on it. Really pissed right now.

Redkk, you may have put it to close to the top part of the oven. Post some pics, lets see how it looks.
