So I finally got around togoing to the Jeep dealer where I bought my Liberty. The parts guy advised me the cost of the Renegade Hood Blackout was $244.00!!! As cool as I think it would look, I can't justify that much $$$ on a sticker. :(

it could probably be done ALOT cheaper and still high quality.. all you would need to do is go to a vinyl shop and have them make a template and cut it out of a piece of black vinyl..

hell you could get some of that nice fake matte CF (that real nice stuff) for less than 150$.. probably less as i am not sure of the 'hood bump' measurements..

regular vinyl would be significantly cheaper than that.. probably around 50-60$ or so.

I used Rhino liner to do mine, about a year ago. I did the grille as well. It is still holding up well.

It was actually very easy to do. I removed the hood, and the washer nozzles. I then removed the grille, and removed the black grille inserts.

I had my buddy tape off the raised section of the hood for me. I did a light sanding on the paint, and the paint on the grille. We then shot it with Rhino liner. It was dry in about 10 seconds. It is very tough and durable.

I currently have a 2009 Jeep Liberty KK sport. Didnt realize when I got it that it be so difficult to make it more "off-roadish". I just got one tow hook for the front, and I am going to get all the Skid plates soon. I actually have been looking at the renegade, and was wondering if I should try to go trade it in and get a 2011. I have a few issues with my truck (passenger restraint, airbags, and now the fuel injector). Do you think its worth looking into a 2011 Renegade? If not what else can I get besides the decal to make it Renegade. I know Renegades are suppose to come with Selec-trac(even though the dealers only have Command trac, which is what I have). I dont want to pay more monthly to have the same exact truck. Is there a way I can replay the Wheel Wells to make them black like on the Renegade?

If you can help that would be perfect~!

quicksilver linked ya the wrong decal :P

I'm certain he meant

http://www.pixeldecals.com/shop/JK-Moun ... egory_id=0

Don cuts a blackout for the JK, he'd just need a stencil or something for the KK hood

a big piece of paper, some painters tape and some chalk to shade for a precise dimensional stencil would probably be all he'd need - assuming he doesn't have access to a KK locally

the JK one is only like 80 bucks
