Post subject:  KK aftermarket trailer hitch
Thinking of trading my 2005 CRD KJ for a KK 2008 to 2011. If you add an aftermarket hitch does the engine and transmission cooling need upgraded?

Would be smart to see if it doesn't already have a trans cooler installed. Curious though: Why get rid of a CRD?

My wife's car is a 99 and not much of a road car , the Jeep has 98K and we have the 100k warranty, We try to have one newer car for long road trips. I am retired so we try to travel as much as possible, flying is too expensive and too much of a pain but that is another topic.

I have an '08 KK without the factory towing package, and I installed the aftermarket hitch without the auxiliary cooler, and I haven't had any problems at all. Of course, if you were using it for towing constantly and for heavier loads, it might make a difference, but I think it's more in the way you drive it while towing.
