Looking very modified-XJ-ish (which looks quite good) with obvious (and appropriate) allowances for the IFS, etc. If only the KK had a CRD option in the US... |

dieselenthusiast wrote: Have you had the chance to total the weight for each bumper? I have a feeling that those bad boys are heavy. I was interested in net weight change (versus just absolute weight by themselves) so I've got to dig out weights I took of the OEM bumper, tow hooks, rear tow hitch assembly, etc. If I can't readily find, I'll reweigh them this weekend sometime and then post weight comparisons, and net weight added, going from OEM to my heavy duty off-road bumpers. Although I took appearance seriously in my designs, ultimately function and true ruggedness were more important to me than "just looking off-road tough" (which I could've done via having my bumpers made from sheet gage steel rather than formed plate). Good question that I've bet several people are wondering that I'll quantify an answer to once I lay my hands on the info.

Post subject: | Re: MtnLuvr's Off-Road Front Winch Bumper vs OEM Stock KK |
Did a quick stop by my Jeep dealer tonight to pickup some rear spring isolators for my lift upgrade this weekend and snapped this photo beside a stock KK: Which would you rather be wheeling relative to approach clearances to obstacles, front end protection and self-recovery? Why didn't Jeep, or someone, just offer a true off-road package for the KK from the beginning? |

I know I referred to it as XJ-like, but I stand corrected. It's a little reminiscent of of the front/rear approach profile of an H3 (but not GM-military-knockoff looking). Compared to the stock version with shiny chrome wheels, it looks like a jeep compared to a Nitro. |

Man that looks great. Even after I sent the money to get mine Line-Xed I would be willing to remove it for one of those. Im sorry if you mentioned it on other posts- I didnt read all of them. How much would one cost. So like BugginKJ told me I can start saving money or get a better job. |

Here's a couple quick shots of my fully armored TanKK after initial completion of installation of the JBA 4" Adjust-A-Strut lift: I'll try to post up some info on it tomorrow and address some previous postings here as it has been a long couple days. |
