I used it once going down a long, rocky and steep forest service road and thought it was great!

Works really well on serious hills, not so well for minor descents. Makes some pretty annoying ABS sounds though...

As stated, it is Hill Descent...
I used it once only. I was visiting a neighbour who was building his house on a mountain and when I was descending the driveway, very long, very steep in several spots, and some loose gravel here and there. Worked well, but was noisy.

Very very noisy.

Works well holds you back but if u hit a certain speed it lets go and holds you back at the next speed trap. Which is not helpful when you don't want it to let go and go 5 MPH faster!

You control the speed via your transmission gear shifter. I've used it and loved it. Put it in [1] when I want to go down the hill slow, and [D] when I don't.
