Alright, does any have or know anything about the Rockfather lift kit for the KK? I am looking into getting one but I need the opinions of others. Any advice or comment would be greatly appreciated

I only bought the roof rack and rails form RRO, Missing parts, no instructions. Fast turn around for me at least.
I was going to go with their 2.5" lift (the $1k one)

after more research I went with JBA coilovers and rear springs and shocks. Have not put them on yet. ($1500) front, $380ish rear. Great customer service. You deal with one guy (Marlin)

JBA's customer service and product quality = A+ (I've got his original, and one of his first few, 2.5" suspension lift and UCAs for the KK). Marlin is super great to work with. See also this thread for more info on my JBA suspension lift install.

RRO's customer service actually isn't as bad as their reputation on this board = C+ but order quality, including receiving all hardware and instructions = D- ....could be worse but not good enough to be "average" yet actual quality of the product itself = B- (I've got their Superslider rock rails and Adventure Roof Rack). See also my postings in this thread on the RRO Supersliders (that have held up well to some offroad beatings) and this thread on the RRO Adventure Rack which if I'd had another option, I would've bought but I needed something better than OEM for load-carrying before heading to Moab in April.

Hope all this helps.

Thanks for the advice but I really want to talk to someone who actually has the lift to give me some feedback about it. How is the roof rack, aside from missing parts? What parts were you missing?

I was missing instructions of any sort (even though some pieces are uniquely marked) and did not get the fastener covers. When I ordered my Supersliders I also ordered something else (I've yet to install) which took a long time to get. Maybe Liberty owners are just more particular ........

I wish the roof rack had siderails but that'll have to wait until.............who knows........

I've seen the pictures of your JBA lift. I have to say, it make the KK look awesome. How much total was the entire lift. Did you have to buy anything extra that didn't come in the kit? How difficult was it to install? and How satisfied are you with it? Any problems? Sorry for the million questions.

See the thread I referenced above on my JBA lift install. After installing a couple extra rear spring isolators per side and my front settling, I wound up with 2-2.5" of lift before adding my larger tire size (more lift at front, less at rear).

The JBA lift came with everything for the lift, although I did also purchase and install at the same time the UCAs (upper control arms). Figured while everything is apart, might as well do them both at once.

I think my thread listed the time it took for the front (hardest) and rear (easiet) lift. If you're comfortable with hand tools and working on vehicles, you can do it yourself. Someone like Digger has all the powered tools and experience to do it dramatically faster, but I tend use just hand tools, take my time, check each item mutliple times and my dad harasses me about taking too much time taking photos as I go. The worst part of the front is the replacement of the UCAs I also did at the same time as the rear bolts are really a hassle to get to.

I am extremely satisfied with my JBA (original) 2.5" lift and the experience. I've done all types of things in my KK and it handles well both off and on the street. Unfortunately Marlin came out with his adjust-a-strut lift design well after I had been using my lift. I envision I'll eventually upgrade to it for the flexibility it offers but that will be after some other mods to my KK. I've had zero problems with my JBA 2.5" lift and would highly recommend it and Marlin/JBA to anyone considering a true suspension replacement lift kit. I had contacted Marlin before installing my lift and asked what to do if I had questions over the weekend and he gave me his personal cell phone number to call him even though one of the two weekends was Mother's Day weekend. I did wind up with a small question, called him and he called me back promptly and answered my question (had to do with a recent change he'd made to UCA boot versus how the instructions were worded).

In my personal opinion, I would recommend anyone considering a KK lift evaluate all the options and figure out which lift you feel is best as well as most appropriate for how you may ever use your KK (since most people don't redo their lifts often). In my personal opinion, you'd be happier with the end results to buy the lift you decided upon, even if it meant putting off the purchase until you had the funds. Just my :2cents:

Hope this helps.

what about the 4" JBA lift? would that put a bind on any systems on my KK or would I be good to go with only the kit? What other parts do I need if I bought the 4"? what is Marlin's number so I can possibly talk to him?

I have been running my KK at 3.5 inches or more of lift now for a year and a half with out any issues. Besides needing to buy his UCA's, it is advisable to buy a new smaller drive shaft so as to maximize rear end flex... Other wise, all of the parts are included in his lift.

I have, I believe the third 4" lift. It is generation what I call v2.1 as v2.0 had some minor fork design issues that were redesigned by marlin, tested by myself and no issues anymore. The lift is great! The ride is like stock or better as the stocks are soft on the road and stiff off road so you don't bottom out. Marlin's contact info can be found on his website http://www.jeepinbyal.com I don't belive you need anyting but what he includes in his lift kit. I still have my drive train and I am sitting at about 4.5" lift in the rear and 4" lift in the front.

Thanks E2, Digger and most of all MtnLuvr for the advice. Ya'll helped greatly in my choice of which lift to purchase. I decided to go with the JBA full KK 4" lift kit with Bilsten 5100 struts in the rear. Marlin was extremely helpful when I called him and I was able to set up a payment plan. Again, you guys are the best and I appreciate your advice greatly.

I just ordered mine about a month ago. I'm in Iraq right now but as soon as I get back (fingers crossed it has arrived) that will be one of the first things I do when I get back. I'm pretty excited about it. I will definetly be referring to the threads about installing the lift so I don't screw anything up.
@Digger, where did you go to get your custom drive shaft? What is their website?
