So I'm looking at the liberty to be my next vehicle purchase. I don't currently off-road but have a job that requires me to get there snow or no snow. I also have a dog I'd like to put in the back. I've seen a few with the jet package and really liking the look. What's the thought about this package?

Also the skyslider. I know that it was released with many issues in 2008. But I can't really figure out if those issues have been solved. I see a ton of complains online but they all seem to be 2008. Am I to assume that they've been fixed and has resulted in me finding no real complaints to the newer models?

Thanks for any info and hope I can become an active member of this community in the near future.

Don't know about the Jet package but we have a skyslider on our 2010.
We love it - zero issues. No leaks. No mechanical issues. You just have to understand what you are getting. It is a soft top. There will be some wind noise. It will be louder in the cab. If you can handle that, it's awesome.

I have 2011 Liberty with the JET package and Skyslider and love it. I had an 08 with just a sunroof and liked it but the Skyslider is awesome. I haven't had any issues with my Skyslider and actually today we had a pretty bad rain storm and I'm happy to report, NO LEAKS!!!

I have an '08 with the skyslider and did have the awful wind noise you are referring to. $3.00 fix with some weatherstripping 8 months ago and now it's great. I'm sure the new models are fine since they got so many complaints with the '08's nobody would've bought them if they were still bad.

Even before fixing the wind noise issue I've never had any leaking in mine. It's awesome with the skyslider this time of year.

I have the 2011 Jet package...I love it and get many people saying the same thing about it. It def is not for off roading, but I did not buy it for that purpose anyways. Mostly just for family and hauling the kayak. I do not have the skyslider, just a sun/moon roof. I figured why go for the whole thing when I will only look up from the drivers seat anyways. Looking back, I think the little one would have really enjoyed the skyslider.

jdougal...ok, let me rephrase that. You can go off roading if you would like with the JET. I wont be and that's not the reason I bought it. The trail rated badge is removed from the JET unlike the others. Either way it is still a great vehicle.

I got my Jet with 4WD so if I wanted to I could go off-roading. I had a lot of fun off-roading my 08 Liberty so I wanted to atleast give my self the option with this one. The stock 20's aren't the best for the trials but you could pick up a set of Cragar Soft 8 wheels and some General Grabber AT2 tires for for less then a grand and have a nice off-road wheel/tire package.
