so i am rather excited because i am not the most gear minded guy on the world, by no means am i horrible but i typically would rather pay some one to do it and be sure the job is done. This time i said forget that, and did it my self. I went great, took me an hour and a half because i had to figure out how many spacers to use on the front bracket, but it looks awesome. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tommarow, the tow hooks go on! ![]() ![]() |

I am still not sure if I like the side steps, I cannot make up my mind...I need them for the passenger side as well for the girls because they are too small. The young one takes after her mom and they are both tiny. What do you all think about them? |

I was on the fence as well, but I want a push bar for the front and thought it would look silly with out the Jeff bars too. My wife isn't the shortest female but since I stuck them on she has used them and likes them. I dOnt need them my self, but they will come I. Handy when I have to do a quick check while I'm off roading... Nothing worse Than dismounting into freaking 1ft deep mud hole! Theyre relatively cheap and are easy to install your self. Pro dint you have a socket set and he patients to read the directions ![]() Since I put them on I'm happt with them, I like the look alot. |

gren71 wrote: ![]() Wow - those steps look WAY better than the Mopar ones.... they seem to tuck up alot better, so you'll lose ALOT less clearance. Am I right - or just angle? |

I a actually parked next to a jeep wih he steps from molar today. Heres what I saw.. The mopar ones have three connection points, but do sig a bit lower. The ones I have sit uP higher but Only mount in two places. I dontthink the mounting part plays a large roll, just something I noticed. |

The front and back of the steps meet the plastic trim along the bottom of the jeep, and the brackets don't go below the lowest point of the steps by more than maybe a 1/4 in. I lost a LITTLE cresting cletance, but of I were pushing a hill rest that close to the envelope, I likely would have hit my rear dif. Any way. |

For the tow hooks, if you havent already done it, check Diggers post on how to remove the front bumper. That made it pretty easy once i read through it, just a few things had changed on my 2011. |

I went and found the thread and read it, I'm sure it will make more sense if I saw what if was talking about on my number in person. Though this is a nit intimidating..can I put them in with out removing the bumper? And do I have to cut that gray placates crap where they're supposed to poke through. My bumper doesnt have the holes for them. ![]() Thinking a small hand saw and five seconds should remedy the issue! ![]() |

The bumper has got to come off. It really isn't that hard though, just take your time and follow the instructions. If you have a 2011, there isnt a plastic fastener by the power steering cooler like in the post. Also the fender flares are held on to bumper skin by clips that you will need a flat head screwdriver to release. For the plastic pop rivets (x4) i just grabbed a small phillips screw driver and pressed in the middle of the rivet and pushed it through. they fell right out after that, no cutting required! I also ordered a plastic rivet gun and rivets from harbor freight to replace them fyi |
