Hello all, I'm gearing up for my first add-on. Having never modified a vehicle myself, this will likely be quite a rudimentary question for a lot of you. But I'd like to do it right and not break anything, so I figured I'd ask for some help. I also searched the forums for all the potential search terms I could think of, and I haven't found anything to answer my question. Like I said earlier, it's probably too rudimentary for a lot of you guys to warrant a thread about it. lol Without paying a dealership service department to remove these parts for me, how would I go about removing the stock faux rails so that I can add on functional rails (so I have a means of carrying my kayak)? I found some little ares that look like friction fit clips, but they won't budge. I'm able to slightly peel the top half up, but like I said, I don't want to break anything that I might need later on. Can anyone help a first-timer? Also, a related question. As you can see below, my KK has the Sky Slider roof. Does anyone know if this roof has the same mounting holes for the rails that the non-sunroof models have?

here is the installation instructions for the oem bars. looks like the old ones just pry off and by the looks of your rails they look like my sport without skyslider but someone else may verify that for you. http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-us/imagehandler.ashx?id=2239 |

I don't have the Skyslider, but when I took mine off, I ended up having to just pry them up, making them pretty well useless after removal. |

Ok I peeled up one end of one of the rails. It uses the same little snap clips as the functional factory rails, and it has the same adhesive gasket. Thanks for helping out, guys. Buying my new rails next week! |

It is possible to make a write up of what you did? With Pictures... Or takes Pic of the rails after removal but but you add the new ones? I have 2 year to plan out all my mods... Then I can add them all.... |

I just ordered my new Rocky Road bars this past Saturday, and I plan on installing them the day I get them in. I've seen mixed reviews on the Rocky Road bars, but I don't mind having to grind a few edges to get them to fit. I got the manufacturer to send me their PDF instructions this weekend so I could read up on them, and their photos are terrible. So I definitely plan on taking photos and posting them here! |

Take the time and write a new Instal guide for them. Maybe you can get a Discount on your next purchase with them... OK Great, I look forward to this
