I want to order some DDM Tuning HIDs, but I want to make sure I get everything Im going to need now, before I run into a problem during installation.
So, what am I missing?
So far I have:
-DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast
-35 watt
-H13/9008 Hi/Lo
-6000k (will that be too blue? I want white)
Do I need the
-Dual in Dual out harness?
-Error eliminator?
-Adaptor cables?

What has your experience been like with DDM HIDs?

Even my 4500K HIDs from DDM were too blue for my tastes. I wanted white just like you and it seems that if you want "white", you have to get the 4300K temp which they do not sell.

Between that and the problems I was having with my DDM kit, I just took it out and threw it in the garbage.

If you have auto-headlamps, Id just forget it all together. Mine's collecting dust in a box, located in my garage. It was a battle I decided wasn't worth it. I even have to resistor/capacitor thingys. Even when they would work, there was still an ever so present flicker. I agree with Maroon, just start by not bothering. Save you from yourself.

for the headlights i got the following from DDM:

DDM HID Kit, 35W, H13 High / Low, 6000K
Bulb Color: 6000K
Bulb Type: H13/9008 Hi/Lo (+$20.00)
Wattage: 35 Watt

between the headlights and my fogs, i think theyre pretty darn sweet. didn't need to buy any special harness or anything. it comes with everything you need.

do they look too blue in my avatar? <<<<<<<<<<<<<

i dont get any flicker or anything. i do get a funky crackle from my dash tweeter when i turn the brights on tho. I think its some sort of ground loop issue from my audio setup. i do prefer the low beams anyway since the highbeams turn off the fogs.

What years and models does everyone have? Do all KKs have auto headlights?

I've got a 2009 Limited with auto headlights. I don't know if the sport and renegade have them or not

black and blue, do you have any type of "error eliminator"?

Mine's a 2008 Limited w/auto-lamps.

No, I didn't buy the error eliminator. I've never gotten a bulb out warning or anything either.

the warning i guess would arise in some cars b/c you leave the passenger side oem headlight plug unplugged with the HID kit

Interesting. I had the anti-flicker deal installed and it still flickered. It never once gave me a bulb warning, not even w/o the anti-flicker pack.

I may have to some different bulbs.

i'm guessing it flickered even before you had the anti flicker thing installed?

I've read that having solid ground connections is really important for the ballasts.

I'm pretty sure JeepinItReal has HID's in his KK, and he's an electrical engineer, so maybe he has some insight on this

i've read, and experienced, horror stories about the packaging of the kits. my box was destroyed when it got here from China, but the contents seemed ok. maybe they have quality issues with the ballasts, or they get damaged during shipping all that way.

My box was undamaged.

I have a '10 Renegade with Auto Headlights.

Don't all new liberty's have the "auto" feature? I know my 2010 sport has the option, but i never used it and i had HIDs in my truck and they worked without any issues.

black and blue, I did try the install several dif ways all with the exact same outcome. I also know how important a good ground is so I doubt that was the problem. Seems like I might need to try a dif set of bulbs. Maybe one day I will get the nerve to bother again.

Well after reading everyone's replies, I dont think Im going to order them and that really frustrates me. I have wanted to do this for a while and now I need to come up with a new solution. I dont want to order them and end up being out 80 bucks if they dont work. I could hook up some hellas on the bumper but thats WAY more work and money too. Anyone have an idea how much it would be all together for parts (lights, the popular wrangler mounting bar, ect)???
I WANT MORE LIGHT!! :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Not all of them. It's part of an option package.

Do the HIDs still flicker if you turn the light knob to (on) instead of (auto)?

Mine did. The switch setting didn't matter.
