I'm trying to install tow hooks on my 2010 and every write up I see looks totally different then what my jeep looks like. How do I remover that plastic piece to get my hand in there? Do I cut it off? Cause I removed the 3 clips on the bottom and tried to pull the whole thing out but it is a massive piece and won't come out without taking the bumper off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

Not sure if this will help, but here is a link to the direction I am using to install my tow bar bracket from Blue OX. It shows how to remove the front bumper cover, maybe it will help you out. http://www.aemfg.com/pdfs/BX1976.pdf |

Which hardware set did they give you? If you have the "m" shaped bolts you shouldnt have to remove the bumper. There is another bolt setup that has a flat piece and two studs forming a "u" which you would have to take off the bumper cover for installation. Mine didn't come with any hardware so i bought my own bolts, nuts and washers and fished them through the small opening of the "frame" rail with a coat hanger and string. I only had to pull back the fender flare and unclip those 3 bottom clips on the bumper. It didn't take long but it was a pita. |

The hardware is good, but in all the pictures I see of tow hook installs the plastic piece in front of the trans cooler is taken out and I can't figure out how to pull the piece out. Do I need to cut it? I don't want to take the bumper off. |

If you are talking about the little square plastic pieces with vents in it then yes, cut it. |
