I got a flat on the way into work today. I have a 2008 KK Sport with the 16" aluminum wheels that I just bought 2 weeks ago. Well there's a hubcap over the wheel that made it difficult to change the tire. The tire iron wouldn't fit over the lugs because the hubcap made the holes too small. Are the hubcaps the standard equipment or did the previous owner add them? |

I don't believe any Libertys came with hubcaps. |

I think those rims were on the limited packed. Do you have that? I'm guessing that's what they put on it.. You will have to get a socket with a breaker bar or large ratchet to get that off. |

It's a sport with the popular equipment group. I ended up calling AAA and they came out with a tow truck and were able to get the old tire off. It doesn't make sense to me that they would add these hubcaps at the factory and then make it so you can't get the wheels off with the equipment provided. |

Got the hubcaps off. It wasn't too hard once I used my head. Just pop a wrench in behind the clips and pull. Now that they're off, if anyone wants them it's $30 including shipping |

These don't replace the lugs, they just made getting to the lugs impossible with the tire iron that comes with the jeep. AAA had a different one that fit without a problem. Now that I got them off I don't have to worry about it anymore. Personally, I think the wheels look better without them on. I'm not a big fan of the chrome. I'm still looking into some Crager D Window wheels though... |
