So I was wondering, does my 08 limited have a tranny cooler? The reason I ask is because when I took it up wheeling this last weekend it seemed the tranny was overheating more than I would have thought it should (the transmission temp light came on a few times). If not, I guess I better go buy one right away! :banghead:

Your trans cooler is part of the AC condensor.

Oh and once your trans temp light comes on your trans fluid's life is cut to less then 5000 miles before it can no longer provide proper protection to the trans.Better get it flushed with new ATF+4,heat kills auto trans fast.

Any suggestions to keep this from happening when I do go up the mountain again?

T-case in 4low and keep your speeds way down. When going to the trail head lock out overdrive which will also help before your on the trail.

Also check out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=51166&start=20

and look for Mik08 and jeepinitreal's posts - I found them very helpful (mind you, I have not yet applied the j6 mod).

thanks

That would be correct and will not effect your trans temps.Gotta use your low range when your in the mountains here in Colorado.
