I'm not a fan of going to dealerships, so if I can figure out a way to troubleshoot this on my own, I'd prefer it.

I've got water coming in through the sunroof, driver's side and passenger side, whenever we get some heavy rain. It soaks into the ceiling and creates these yellow stains, and drips onto the floor and soaks the floor mats. I get a pretty even amount of water coming in on both sides.

What are the first steps to figuring out the source of the problem and potentially fixing it? I know clogged drains could be the issue, but don't even know where to look for those. What about seals? Anything else I should check?

Thanks

Is it a sky slider? If so do this: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f292/sky ... st11805797 but don't cut it into sections on the corners like that dude did, just wrap it around the corner. No need to go all the way around the roof.

I did this and it worked perfectly for water as well as wind noise. You can do that in the back also.

Nope, not a sky slider. Mine is an '08, pre-skyslider.

Nevermind. Figured it out. The driver side drain opening was caked in with pollen.

At least I think that was it. The drain is open and flowing again, so hopefully that does the trick.

They don't make it easy to get to the darn things, though. The hole is maybe 1/4" diameter and is in the front corners of the tray, and it's blocked by some additional plastic. It's not easy to get in there to clear it.

Anyone got any suggestions for cleaning the yellow water stains out of the headliner?

Blue Coral upholstery cleaner works pretty well.

Had my sunroof leak twice on me. First was a bad seal around glass. Warranty covered that one. Second time was because of clogged drain. My fault there. Splashed through "mud puddle" too fast with sunroof open causing clog. Sunroof hasn't leaked since having the dirt blown out of drain. Sure was fun getting wet from the splash. My passengers had another opinion on that one though. :ROTFL:

Will have to try the blue coral myself, I left the moonroof cracked open, rained and have the stains. Where is the drain hole at? Wouldnt hurt to check it out while cleaning the head liner.
