Post subject:  Cargo tie down rails

I remember seeing pictures of someone with either a KK or a KJ who had two tie down rails on bolted on either side of the cargo box in the rear cargo area and up the back seats (so when the seats were folded down the rails would be there). The tie down rails looked to be about 3" wide and had bars spaced every few inches along the rails for hooking bungees or ratchet straps.

Went through all 43 pages of "cargo" in the search feature, and "tie down" didn't pull up anything. If anyone remembers this post or has any clue what I'm talking about it would be awesome.

Thanks.

I looked for it too and could not locate the post. If I remember correctly they were just a generic rail that had been cut to fit and bolted onto the rear deck and seat back. Looked like something you could get from a home improvement store. I also tried to search jeepkj.com but to no avail.

Found it: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=61314&p=679498&hilit=tie+downs#p679498

See if that works. It was posted on Jun 25, 2011 by hs10. The rails are a track system for truck and trailer load securing according to hs10's post. See what you get when I am bored at work at 1:00 am?
Hope this helps.

That's the one. Thanks very much for finding it. Unfortunately won't be able to do anything with it for about six weeks; I go back to work. I'll have that and my lift to look forward to when I get back home though. *biggrin*

Those look like a much better way to secure my toolbox than the plastic brackets that are there.
