Post subject:  I am still alive and now with new tires..

So, I kinda fell off the face of the forums for quite a while (not like I was here long anyway) but recently had to get some new tires... long story short, after I got my other tires, I neglected to get an alignment and by the time I realized it, the positive camber destroyed the outer parts of the tires... and what fun is it to buy only TWO new tires..

I thought it would be a good idea to go with 265/75/16 o.O which i thought would fit fine.. and they KINDA do, but they rub the front pinch weld sometimes (time for a dremel endeavor) for some reason when I calculated i screwed up and thought they were 31" tires, but they are closer to 32" o.O

the tires I had before were 255/70/16 (30.1" diameter) compared to the 265/75/16 (~31.6" diameter)

they look nice though :D

I got the Goodyear Authority A/Ts and ordered a locker.. shhhh. don't tell the wife!!

I never did like that pinch weld anyway.. Just thought I would share! With these new tires, I am kicking myself in the booty even more for getting a 2WD Jeep.. I know, I know.. why those tires on a 2WD.. makes me feel cool :D lol

by the way, i have the day star lift. this is NOT on stock suspension.. I can finally do an oil change now without jacking it up.. HAHAHA

When are you re-gearing?
If you are getting a locker installed now would be the time to do that as well, and with being a 2 wheel drive would be cheap!!!
Hope you got a DTT or something better

hadn't planned on regearing.. should i? o.O

I need to change my diff fluid anyway, so im thinking about installing it when I get back from the holiday trip.. hoping I will be able to have a bit more fun with the 2WD then.

you're in for a lot of trimming

my 255/70R17 (31.1" Dia) had a good amount of rubbing before pounding the pinch weld and trimming the front plastic

i have the OME lift

your gunna wanna trim that front bumper too.. i will almost guarentee it rubs. good tire. 4.11's would be a good fit for ya. i have a 265-75-16 myself. remembr if you rub on flat pavement, int he trails expect the worst

I had a 2WD 1989 Cherokee once, it still went through a heck of a lot! Ground clearence is a big part of it!

What rims are those?

Still don't know what the heck the pinch weld is, probably because I don't ever plan on getting a tire so big I would have to trim anything. Just my two cents, but I think those wheels would look even better with a center cap.
