Hey Folks , New member here. Just found this forum site. I have a 2010 Liberty Sport (will post some pics over in the pic section soon). I know that the new style Liberty's do not have the option like the older ones for a light bar on the roof. However not hard to add the lights on my Yakima basket. My question is , there are a few blank switch banks in front of the gear shifter , right next to the traction control , hill decent and hazard buttons. Is there any after market switch that will fit exactly in this space ?? |

Simple answer is no. The panel with those switches in it, has a computer board behind it that covers the whole thing. That is why folks have been using the dash, and center console area. |

Yep , that looks good too ! Big fan of trying to use the factory locations / switches whenever possible. However looks like that is not an option here. |

I also used the inside of the little compartment for my rack lights. It is a great place for them, so I don't accidentally turn them on with a knee or something. ![]() Then I went left and right of the steering wheel for the other 2. You have to be careful here, as the back of the dash has plastic that can interfere with them. On the right (first Pic below) of the steering wheel I had to cut some of the main dash out behind the cover, so the switch would fit. ![]()

![]() The dash locations felt to cramped for me so I decided to go with the console/bezel area |

Has anyone thought about or tried putting their switch bank up behind the front dome lights? For those without the skyslider, it seems that there is a TON of room up there to have a nice and neat row of switches. I am hoping i wont be the first, but if i am, i will definitely do the "how to" for it. ![]() My goal is to use that space to install switches for my aux fog lights on either the front bumper or roof rack, have another switch to control my emergency lights for fire/ems, and also have my rotary switch to control my siren. here is the VERY crude mock up.

I made a custom switch mount in the small tray section near the light sensor - you know the tray that's really little to no use? Whatever I put in there always fell out.... Now it has 5 switches & the holder for my UHF handset. ![]() Here's a link to the Aussie webpage with more about it; http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100877 Sagerist wrote: Has anyone thought about or tried putting their switch bank up behind the front dome lights? I put another 3 switches in the roof console I made - so in total I have an extra 8 switches up front. But beware, there is a big black plastic piece behind the interior light that may need modification to capitalize on the space. ![]() This is a picture of the holes under the console. You can see there is heaps of room ![]() Here's a link to that Aussie thread http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96299 Ben.T |

Anyone know if these would work in a KK? They're designed for JKs up to 2010 using the stock screws so that no drilling is required. ![]()

I would be cool to do that but i dont think i can pull off that kind of worksmanship in building something that looks OEM. I was just hoping that he didnt do that because there was no room because of some wacko controller jeep decided to put up there. but now it looks like i can, just gotta find that plastic piece you mentioned and figure out the ramifications of it. |
