Atthehelm, did you have to do any drilling or did you mount it via the pre-drilled holes for the tow hooks? I'm guessing you had to drill to bolt on the center skid that protects the cooler? I'm just more asking for how many mounting points did you put on the bumper? I was thinking of doing something similar, but my sketches for the center skid looks closer to MtnLuvr. I'm gonna start up a thread as soon as I scan my designs.

I drilled two more holes behind the tow hook holes for a total of six grade8 3/8" bolts. I kinda wish i tied in to the front of the crossmember too but when i figured out how to do it it was too late and couldn't get a wrench in there anyway. That skid is actually welded to the 1/4" x 2" angle iron mounts, so it is all one piece. The shackle tabs pass through the front skin and are tied directly to the mounts. The frame will tear before they come off.

I bought the Harbor Freight 90 amp flux welder with a coupon for $80. It works just fine for the light stuff as long as you bevel the edges and have the right settings. .035" wire works better too. I used a Millermatic 252 for the mounts and shackle tabs because my little welder wouldn't cut it.

Very nice! I can't wait until the aftermarket catches up with the KK since I'm not as talented as some of you all and can't make my own!
