I can't decide.... :banghead:

My wife's 2005 KJ just hit 51,000 miles. We have $4000 left on the loan. It need new shocks (real bad!) and most likely tires next year.

A local Jeep dealer is offering up to $7000 off new KK Latitudes, so I'm REAL tempted to trade in the KJ.

I'm not crazy about adding more debt, but this may be worth it.

Guess it depends on your deciding factors and what you plan to do with the jeep. If you like the look of the KK over the KJ maybe you should go for it. Idk that much about the KK to help decide.

Lets see, $1000 for new shocks and tires.
or
$28000 + $4000 loan remaining - $7000 off - $9000 trade in = $16000 for a new KK

my choice would be to buy the tires and shocks and drive it for another 100k and 5 years. You would have to spend over $4000 a year in maintenance before it would be a wash.

If you bank the $300 a month you would have spent in car payment, you'd have a $18000 down payment on a brand new 2018 model.

And 4 wheel independent suspension... If that's what you're into, go down that route.

I say do what makes you happy. If you like the KJ more then the KK stay with it. If you like the KK and have the money(or just don't want a used KK) then trade the KJ in and get a KK before the new generation comes.

Only 51,000 on it???
Keep it, I wouldn't trade , install some new springs /shocks /tires and be good for another 100,000
or at least tell me where you are trading it in at!
or sell it outright

I'd get into a KK sometime this year, because theyre not going to make them anymore, and you'll surely get a deal during the outgoing model clearances coming up. Out with the old, in with the new
