I am thinking about putting a cherry bomb glasspack on my 2011 Liberty, or another brand glasspack. Anybody have advise on this? How will the glasspack effect my performance and gas mileage, not that it's getting good gas mileage anyway! What is the size of the exhaust pipe to fit the glasspack, and where is the best spot to put it inline? any info is helpful. thanks! |

You will need to take it to a muffler shop since the factory muffler is a 2.5" on center in and a 2.5 off center out. |

I just put a Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler on my 2009 on Friday. 2 1/2 inch center in , 2 1/2 offset out. Part # 88103 Nice slightly louder at idle than my previous walker ss 20inch long muffler, and nice gritty roar when you wind it up. Nothing obnoxious, No drone or any annoying sounds as you are cruising in town or the highway. You can hear the exhaust has been modified but the wife probably won't notice from inside the vehicle. The previous walker gave it a but more exhaust tone , but didn't add much noise when you punched it. I still have the stock resonator in place. Sorry no sound clips. |

The thing to consider when selecting mufflers is the length of the case. Short case mufflers (10" to 15" or so) sound raspy and fart like, where as the longer case muffs (18" and up) will have a deeper tone and greatly reduce the flatulent school girl like note. The real problem of course is our small V6 breathing out of a single exhaust, it is just not going to sound as mean as a V8. Using a muffler with a longer case is kind of like your 280 lbs grandad firing one out after a meal of mexican food and cheap beer vs your 60 lbs niece on beanie weenies .

Sorry no sound clips. i just cut my resonator off and welded on a 2.5 90% elbow angled to the side then cut it even with the body line. sounds much better now and dosent dump exhaust on me when i have the hatch open. |
