 Post subject: JBA 4" lift or JBA 2.5" lift?

I am new to this jeep kk community and this is my first post here. i am sorry if this question has been posted before but i have done some research on KK lifting for several days and now I come down to those two choices for my brand new 2012 kk sport. I want my kk to look taller/bigger than a stock one with bigger tires installed. I do mostly onroad driving but I would also want to have a better offroad capabilities when getting some mud on tires :D

my question is if the 4" lift looks significantly taller and more agressive than the 2.5 lift? will the 4" lift sacrifices onroad performance and handling? Any thoughts are welcomed, thanks :BANANA:

Pending you don't have the stock tires on the Jeep any more, the 4 inch lift actually increase on road performance to a degree due to the addition of the bilstein shocks and the multi rate coils up front.

Going with the 4 inch lift is going to cost you more on the "back side" so to speak due to the need of a few more up grades like UCA's and an optional new rear drive shaft.

Labor wise, the 2.5 is easier to install as well.

Thanks Diggerfreek! And can you enlighten me the difference between the adjust a strut version and the regular 2.5 lift kit version? Seems to me it has more tweakbility, but what exactly can i adjist on it? In terms of rideand performance? Sorry if i sounded like a noob, i am completely new to the jeep stuff :D

The adjust a strut system uses a variable rate coil spring along with a threaded body racing bilstein.

Basically, you can adjust/fine tune the total amount of lift in the front and the stiffness of the ride. The more pressure you apply to the coil springs with the spanner nuts, it increases the spring rate pressure and lift.

By using this concept, you will never have to change parts on the front part of your lift should you add things like a bumper or a winch. With all other lifts, if you add weight up front, you would sag and loose lift due to the weight. The only way to cure this would have been to change your spring to either medium rate coils or HD coils.

I think i will be going with the regular version with an a arm, since i really dont need to adjust it(as i dont know howto haha) neither will i put a bumper or any extra weight on front.
Will a 245/75 16 go well with the 2.5lift? Or 255/75 16?

Adjusting is super easy.

A 245, 255, or 265 will fit nicely
