I like having my headlights on during the day for visibility. My wife's auto headlights go on whenever her engine is on, but my new kk has the photocell that checks to see how dark it is. Anybody figure out a way to override that bugger? I've tried covering it on the dash... It's magical, and just knows.

I'd see if the dealer can code it

Headlights on during the day for visibility ... The sun isn't bright enough?

You must be in US. In Canada it's the law to have the headlights (DRL: Day Running Lamps) on whenever you are driving, day or night.

Anyways, If the dealer can't bypass the sensor via ECM, then bypass it manually.

Canada DRL is a legal must the dealer has to be able to code this as a mandatory item

A dealer can change the DRL setting with the star scan

Actually, if you cover it with black electrical tape, it will work.

.... at least I should say... it worked for me.

But I took the tape off. It was only an experiment.

I used the electrical tape. It works but looks crappy. I'll see if the dealer can code it differently.
Thanks for those that didn't reply sarcastically.

Dumb question. Where is the photocell sensor for the auto lights?

In the middle of the top of the instrument panel, between the windshield defroster ducts.
