So I searched and couldnt really find anything. But when the weather gets nicer, my brother and I plan to pull my grill off and paint it black, even the small parts around the headlights. I didnt see if anyone has done this yet. has anyone, and i missed it? or can anyone do a quick photoshop of it for me?

This might be the best I have of the grille

It's easy, don't know the exact number but I think there's like 8 circle things on top pull them out and then two tabs beside the headlights one each side and then pull up on the top of grill over the hood support. The rubber round things.

I literally just painted mine like 2 days ago lol. I just posted it heres the link. The grill is probebly the easiest thing to take off. Its literally 8 rivets. You just pop up the middle which allows u to pry it out. Then you just pull it off. May need to put some elbow into it. A Flathead will probably help to pry em. I'll post a pic wen the weather gets nicer. More snow tomorrow. Also if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

BTW, smigelskijk, how did you get the JEEP badge off to paint it? I'm kinda afraid of scratching the paint.

I actually left it on. I used plastic dip there too. I just tapped a square around the the emblem and sprayed it about 4-5 times. After all that I took the tape off and most of it came off the paint on the hood when the tap came off. What ever was left I peeled off myself. Then I got a tooth pick to get inside the letters. I'll post a close up tomorrow when the sun is back up. I did the same thing on the rear emblems. If you don't want to use plastic dip then you should be able to heat it up a little and use some fishing line and move it side to side.

lol you love that plastic dip. I can see how it gets addicting. Think just putting some painters tape around it and spraying it the same way I did my grill would work? isnt it just plastic? I'd rather not pry it off.

i was watching youtube vids and everyone said it was hard but i'll take your guys word for it. I'm just using plasti dip on mine.

And Mawlkrawler its actually easy. I just used plastic dip on mine and peeled the rest off. Just tape off around the letter then spray the letters and you can peel the spray right off its quite easy actually. Lots of youtube vids on it

Just wondering if there is much prep work besides washing before using the plasti-dip?
