I complained on another thread about my 2008 KK's lights, so they got changed out today with Piaa's from Tire Rack. I probably didn't have to go that expensive, because this is what I found:

A smokey grey film type substance on the inside which all but obscured light from getting out
So if your Jeep is not new and your lights are subpar, throw in some new bulbs.

My experience with Ultra's is that they are brighter, but they burn out quicker.
Have you experience the same?
I use my headlights about 90% of the time I am driving.

i had my set in my kk for 2 years without them going out. when my jeep was at the body shop they replaced my silverstars with regular bulbs, otherwise they would still be going strong. i work graveyard so i drive with my lights on 90% of the time also.

The silver star ultras are good but it says right on the box that they're only good for about a year. Mine were on about a six months when I started to notice they weren't as bright as new. I replaced them with a set of hella's and they're even brighter than the silver stars ever were, very impressive and about the same cost as the silver stars. :2cents:

Installed silverstars 1 year ago and still way better than stock lights. Missing my old hella's on my last jeep (used as high beams). Looking for an easy way to mount a set on the liberty.

Hella makes replacement headlight bulbs and they're even brighter than the silver stars IMHO. The dim is a little brighter but the high beam is a lot brighter, at least that was my experience. :2cents:

The same set?! Wow, that's impressive. Are they still bright?
