So I'm slowly starting to get my parts bought and wanted to know what people recommended as far as starting skid plates? I'm guessing fuel tank and t-case probably the two first? But just unsure. Only able to spend about $300 - $350 since I'm sure shipping will eat up another hundred. Any recommendations?

I would start with engine, trans and tcase. The fuel tank skid is the most expensive. The fuel tank has a mediocre skid from factory and should stand up to trail riding unless you start wheeling hard and bashing te underside. I got my skids from the dealership because the ordering and shipping cost online would have saved negligible amounts in my opinion.

Use the money you saved from the fuel tank skid on tow hooks

Oh, good to know then. I figured the gas tank would be pretty un-protected. Yeah, just light trails at the moment. Thanks!

Gas tank has a small thin OEM type skid it held up well for me on my off road adventure .... agreed on the skids.

The t-case is kinda far up in there So you may be able to hold off on that one, or forgo it all together that is if the KK looks similar to my kj
