I know this has been asked before but I can't find it. I want to mount a set of hella 500's on the kk wired to the high beams. (I know about the legals of this) I have had this on both of my past Cherokees and I miss the long distance light they gave. Still not use to the direct line the lights stop at ( going down hill at nite you can't see s### ahead of you) and the high beams are just dimm. I have installed silver stars with good improvement but I want more light ahead. I drive lots of deer infested roads and I want to see those fender benders before it's too late.
Can I just tap into the high beam circuit at each light without messing anything? Relays and fuses of coarse. Anything I should avoid? :JEEPIN:

Is there nothing in the Tech section or the service manaul that can help?

I agree with your want and need...

Personaly, I like switches, and I would just mount a switch to turns these on at any time.
So if you are out camping or working on your land, you can turn them on without turning over the motor or running your normal lights.
But again that is me...

Or to flash some azzhat who is beeing stupid...

I bet you could use the high beam circuit to trigger a relay. Don't know if that will cause any electrical issues but the how my reverse lights are rigged. Figuring where to tap in might be interesting though.

I wanted the same things you did.
This is how I did it. RELAYS! haha.
It requires a little extra wiring and a specific switch. But it is definitely the best way to wire any lights.
I tapped directly into the high beam wire at the headlight.

Any questions let me know.

Enjoy the light!

Thanks, I really like that wiring setup. That gives the best way i have seen yet and will still pass inspection hear also. I am going to use that for sure once I make a way to mount the lights in front of the grill. Not wanting to just drill threw the bumper cover yet.
