From what I understand they can only change the tire diameter to preprogrammed values. Which only include tires of factory sizes.

Hypertech makes a handheld tuner that may have the ability to change tire sizes and hear ratios but I don't know anybody that has used one to verify.

I tried to change the tire size with my Hypertech and it caused ESP and traction control faults. Stock size is about 29.25" and my tires are about 30"...

If anyone gets it to work let me know!

I was it the dealer for something else and asked if the mechanic could tell the computer the new tire size. It's true that they have to choose from preprogrammed sizes but he did a little math and was able to dial it in. My speedometer was brought right back too. He didn't tell me the tire size he used only that he got it very close. They only charged me thirty five bucks but we have a long history with new cars and service. I called a different dealer who told me fifty dollars to check and see if that size was available and a hundred dollars (total) if they change it. The service advisor said that it's a process and it's time consuming, that's why it costs so much. I don't know about the "process". I was out of there in about an hour and that's including the time for checking the wheel bearing. I think they were in the process of taking my money lol. :JEEPIN:

*UPDATE*

After my duratrac install 245/75 R16 I used my hypertech Speedometer Calibrator - Part #752501

After changing size to 30.5" following there instructions, My ESP/BAS light and Traction Control light stay on and give off error code don't remember the code off hand. I have emailed Hypertech to resolve this issue after looking into the program that is loaded for my programer it does not include the 3.7L it only has the 3.6 mini van and 3.8 Wrangler... So how is this the right one. :?

I will update after hypertech gets back to me on this issue

P.S. it does correct the speedo after the recalibration but the ESP/BAS ,Traction Control obviously are not working :furious:

had my purchased elsewhere 245/75/16 tires installed today at a Jeep dealer and they did the computer re-program for free!
compared it to my GPS and its dead on!

so my recommendation is to have Jeep mount & balance, then ask for the re-program.

they charged a total of $66 to mount/balance 4 tires and do the re-program....cheaper than discount tire!!!!!

So no issues with traction control/ESP?
