I was thinking of making a light bar that would sit and mount in the drip rails.Image Sorry about the bad paint drawing. The red dots would be self tappers with double side tape. My question is do you think i will loose support, strength, weakin roof. I have my prototype almost finished but this is where all of my second guessing starts up....

Again any big problem with drilling holes here in these spots. ( they will be water sealed )

Thanks again...

Watch out for the side curtain airbags located just under there.

I see what your trying to accomplish with your drawing my recommendations would be only have 1 mounting point on each side. I would choose the single mounting location to be in between the two locations you have now. Since your only going to be mounting a few light weight off-road lights to it you should only need 4 screws per mount. Remember the more screws you put in the more of a chance you have for a leak. Also don't forget to predrill the screw holes and spray a light coat of black primer paint over the drilled holes, that will stop them from rusting. Then fill them with silicone before screwing in the screws. That will help stop it from leaking.

Good luck!

Oh and to answer your question, NO, a few small holes for screws won't hurt the integrity of the roof.

If you have 4 mounting points. Screw in the front ones and make the backs flat and use GOOD 3M automotive Double side sticky tape.
Then it can be better protected and still use less holes...

Many car kits with rear winds are held on with Double side tape, so if a body shot will see you some as you only need 1 inch per side.

Or

Make the side mounts have 3 points. the middle point would screw into the roof and the other 2 would use doubled sticky tape.
Just an idea..
