Today I noticed a drop of oil coming out of the vacuum line that attached to the back of the air filter box.

1) What is this line and where does it come from/what does it do?

2) Should I be concerned that a small amount of oil seems to have come out the end? It wasn't enough oil to get on the air filter, but it did spread across the plastic housing about an inch to either side and made the hose connection slippery.

Thanks for your help!

That is the crankcase vent tube. No i don't think oil should be leaking from it. Have you checked your oil dickstick lately?

Yes, oil level is ok, although it is time for an oil change.
