I have a fuse connected to the Bi-xenon HID kit before the power connection. It suddenly keeps blowing out. i think it even blew out the relay controller for the hi beams and now i have no headlights. has anyone ever came across this issue? Im thinking i have to replace the whole relay harness...maybe a short in it somewhere. Any ideas? |

The headlights are controlled by the TIPM (computerized fuse box) and CCN (Cab compartment node). If there is an over-draw on the headlight circuit, the TIPM will automatically shut off the power to them. After a set time the TIPM will again allow power to the headlights. If an over-draw is still detected, it will turn them off again. It will do this 3 times, and then shut them off all together until the next ignition key cycle. Because the TIPM continuously monitors the draw on the headlight circuit, it will also detect an under-draw. This is what will cause HID lights to flicker. That is why HID bulbs should not be directly connected to the OEM wires, and you also have to put error code eliminators in place, to stop the flicker. The fuse popping is more than likely caused by a bad component in the HID system. |
