Post subject:  A couple of questions about my KK.
While I was fitting the recovery hooks to my KK this weekend I noticed a couple of things that caught my interest.
First was this item in behind the left side front wheel arch liner. Does any one know what this is? My only guess is its a vibration damper of some sort for the diesel.

Second, I've just assumed that the thicker part of the air cond condenser was the intercooler, but since having the guard liner out I have seen that there is a decent sized intercooler sandwiched between the condenser and the radiator.
So does anyone know what the thicker section at the top of the condenser is about? I notice it is on petrols and diesels. I just assumed before that it wasn't used on petrol KKs.

Hi Fairmont,

I put tow hooks on my KK last week, and didn't notice the cylindrical metal thing you have behind the wheel liner. Maybe it's a CRD thing. We don't have CRD KK's in the states, so I've never seen this.

I have thicker metal stripes at the top of my radiator too, and mine's a gasser. Don't know what it is for, but I know that the radiator, air conditioning condenser, and transmission cooler are all part of the same unit. There is a small power steering cooler underneath the bumper.

The thicker top part is the trany cooler part of the condenser.
