Atthehelm, this is the coolest thing I've seen all day! I recall reading your posts last year where all you had was an idea, made a cardboard mockup held together with duct tape, and you taught yourself how to weld. Cool enough that you made it a reality. Now you've made a second bumper to sell. Rock on.

I echo Cherrie's thanks. I wish I was at the stage where I could buy your bumper, but I'm not even lifted yet. Maybe someday! :D It looks awesome.

Nice work! Looks like the inner fender and outer flair must be trimmed to install... I am somewhat interested, but I have not even made a payment on my KK yet - a little reluctant to bring out the sawzall just yet.

Could you do a version w/o the winch plate?

Post subject:  Re: Who wants a winch bumper?

Yes the plastic fender flares get trimmed as well as the plastic wheel well liner.

I'm very interested. Unfortunately I won't be able to get one until at least a year. Many for Christmas I'll get some heavy duty springs for the front to prepare for this. I just don't know if I want to wait for the jba 4". How much weight does this add?

About 97lbs minus the weight of oem plastic bumper and tow hooks

Any thought of a rear w/tire carrier? Just wondering, you did a pretty good job with the front.

Thanks Ted
If my rear plastic bumper ever gets damaged enough i'll prototype one.
Honestly I thought there was going to be a lot more interest in the front that can make now :? so I'm hesitant to invest any more time/money into any other parts..

Can't say I blame ya. That's pretty much the reason there isn't anything available for us. Everybody wants something, whatever it is, then when someone goes out on a limb and makes it, they don't want to pay for it or it wasn't exactly what they wanted. It's a frustrating reality, it's not really anyone's fault, it's just the way it is. Hang in there, I believe you'll sell some more as more people take KK's off road. How many have ordered so far? The price you have on it isn't bad.

Yep i think you hit the nail on the head. It seems like a lot of people will say "I want one" then when its made and available they dissapear. I remember reading about Kilby making KJ gas tank skids. There was like 25 or so people signed up, Kilby made 10 of them to start, then only like 6 were actually bought.
As of now i don't have any orders. Jeepmonkey bought the one i showed pictures of right away. I've only been pm'd by someone stationed overseas who sounds serious about getting one next spring when he gets back from deployment. Another has been asking since like may for one but wants things changed and seems like he doesn't want to pay full price, then stops communication, then asks again a couple months later?? A few have asked for plans/templates :ROTFL: and thats about it.

Sadly a lot of owners wants their ___________ ( fill in name of vehicle) to be the baddest, tallest, most equipped out there.
But.......they want it all for a buck 2 ninety five.
Plus free mounting :ROTFL:
When you have people who don't want to step up for a full spring lift at 750 or so
you know they are not going to buy much of anything else but say they want it all.
Just the name of the game
Now if you can make, install, paint, provide the winch and hook it up for that buck 2 ninety five you just may have some takers :ROTFL:
