In the mornings I am getting a slip from 1st into 2nd. My KK has 55k on it and guessing will have to take it in for trans fluid change. I bought a bottle of seafoam trans additive to try first. Anyone else getting the slip?

Was it serviced before? I think it's suppose to be at 36,000, I just had mine done at around 37,000. But I didn't have any issues.

yep, same issue with my '08...i started emailing various dealers a few months back in an attempt to start a bidding war for my $ as far as the trans service...they all told me it wasn't due until 60k, while the manual says 120k...from what i've heard, it's pretty common with the SUV applications for the 42RLE tranny

i haven't had the trans service performed, so i can't say whether or not that fixes the issue

Ok I re read the manual. It is 60,000 for the Auto and 30 for the Manual.
So I had mine done early. I need to replace the Trans pan anyway. My pan looked like they painted it over rust metal. The paint sheeted off it. The inside of the pan was painted the same way. They use 2 thin beads of silicone to seal the pan. The pan was rusted under this,paint/ seal. So the pan could have started to leak, under the paint.
I also tow a lot, live on bad roads. So I'm glad to have this done.

Make sure when they service the transmission that they don't use that machine that back flushes it. It causes problems with the tranny. I got that from the head mechanic at one of the dealerships. They actually got rid of their machine because of all of the problems. They now drop the pan, remove the filter and flush the system. :2cents:
Just sayin, be carefull where you take your Jeep.
