Fun With 550 Cord!!! :D

I was really bored on Monday since it was a holiday and I had about 100' of 550 Cord laying around. I decided its been a few weeks since I added something so I decided that I'd spruce up the exterior a bit so I wrapped my handles. I probably only used about 10'-15' per handle. They came out great. Cost me less than $10 and adds to the more "rugged" look. They don't really serve any specific purpose cept to look cool though. Pix below!

I used "mounting tape" that I picked up from Job Lot for $2. The hardest part is getting that annoying red plastic off that prevents it from sticking to itself.

Make sure to put it above and blow. Basically anywhere the 550 cord might wiggle. To prevent it from moving, with every wrap, make so to pull really really tight. Remember its 550 cord, you ain't gonna snap it.

I started off by wrapping the left circle 4 times and then transferred over to the middle. Once the middle was finished I finished by circling the right circle (where the button is) 4 times. I took a dab of Gorilla glue to the end and simply glued it to the handle on the underside where you cant see it. Make sure its flush before gluing. I also put a dab on the other end where I started to make sure it stays. (Make sure to fuse all ends of the 550 cord to prevent fraying)

*** Finished View ***
I realized that I didn't take a finished view. I'll take one as soon as I get home and throw it up on this thread

For more fun with 550 cord, I also had some extra black which I used to wrap my "oh sh*t bar" I used the same process except I didn't glue it I fused the 550 cord to itself.

That's kinda neat!
It'd be cool if this caught on and put an end to the "plastidip" phenomenon.

The desert camo cord woulda put it over the top.
