Hi,

I have a new 2012 Liberty. I've asked Jeep if I can use wheels from the first generation Liberty on a 2012 model -- and got an answer that they don't support unauthorized modifications. The dealer doesn't know. An independent shop wasn't sure. -- I searched the threads here and not found a clear answer.

I just want to mount snow tires on a set of wheels, so I don't have to go through mounting and balancing twice a year. Can anyone tell me if wheels from the 2002-2007 Liberty will fit properly on a 2012, including the TPMS sensors -- since threads here imply they are different. I'd use Wrangler wheels if I thought they would work and can't get Jeep to answer that either.

-- I am not impressed with the lack of help and information from the corporate Jeep office.

Hi Wayside,
I replaced my doughnut spare with a full size tire and rim from a previous generation Liberty. The 16 inch wheels have the same bolt pattern. This is not true for the wrangler, as far as I know. I don't have TPMS in my spare, so I'll let someone else answer that one.

The bolt pattern is 5x4 1/2". The 16" rims from a TJ will fit but watch the width, I'd stay at 7" - 8". :2cents:

ONLY 16 inch wheels from a TJ will fit
JKs changed the bolt pattern so they don't work

Yeah, about the only TJ wheel I can think of that is 16 inches is the Moab wheels off a 03-06 Rubicon(16x8).
Those are a popular retrofit to earlier KJs.
All KJs have at least 16" wheels and the same 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern so any KJ wheels will fit KKs
