Post subject:  Idle Air Control Question

I've done a lot of searching before getting my hands dirty. Does anyone know if the KK has an idle air control valve? My results have not been promising and hopefully someone here knows for sure. If there isn't an IAC, which would seem weird to me, there has got to be something similar to it. I'm aware older Libertys had them.

Subscribed. I would like to know this too.
A while back I was looking for the TPS (throttle position sensor) and on the KK it is built into the throttle body and is not a separate replaceable part. I wonder is the same is true for the IAC.

Glad someone is thinking the same thing I am. If we have one, I want to clean it and hopefully it yields some better mileage. I've already cleaned the throttle body, a little unsteady if I wanna try to clean the MAF.

Pretty sure the IAC is also built into the throttle by wire. No MAF on the 3.7.

Maybe you worded this wrong or I'm confused about the sensor that is connected into my cold air intake. I'm pretty sure it's the MAF sensor. Cleaned it today.

I haven't taken mine apart to see, but from the looks of the "Throttle body" I'd wager its a FADEC type drive by wire engine control.
The ECU just feathers the throttle plate open.
It looks like that stepper motor goes to a gearbox.

If it's just forward of the throttle, I believe thats the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor

that's what Chrysler calls it but auto parts stores call it something else. Air charge temperature sensor. I just broke mine, 35 dollar part. How did you clean it? It's just a electric probe.

Thanks for the input everyone. Still curious as to how/why it doesn't have a MAF sensor. Cleaned it with MAF sensor. Costs about $10.

Was it dirty? If it was then dirt is getting past your air filter. Just don't break it like I did, changing my plugs. I have CAI and caught my cuff on it. I didn't realize it was in my sleeve until it popped out, guard on tip broke off.

It didn't look dirty. Definitely is more clean looking now. I'm very aware these are very sensitive.

I did glue the plastic tip back on. But decided that 35 dollars was cheaper than having a code reset. Or the piece being sucked into the intake.

You cleaned the air temp sensor, never clean that sensor with any chemicals, will mess it up,just replace.

Your engine uses a air temp sensor and a MAP sensor in place of a MAF sensor.

Thanks. I guess I got by on this one. What could one clean it with then? It's running better than new right now.

Post subject:  Re: Idle Air Control Question

When I had to clean the one on my 05 LJ, I used a can of MAF sensor cleaner and a q-tip.
My IAT sensor had the brown oil/dust residue from using a K&N drop in filter.
