I believe they go on the bottom, and you need to drill a hole to bolt the to the lower spring perch. A right angle drill/ adapter will be your friend here.
That's correct. You'll need a sheet metal screw and a washer that'll fit into the hole but you should find a socket that fits loosely, then grab a screw with the head the same size. I removed my springs to drill the holes, threaded the screws into the holes, removed the bumpstops. You won't be able to put the springs back with the lower bumpstops installed. What I did was put the springs in then install the bumpstops. They're designed to be used with the upper bumpstops so you'll have to put those back in.
Did you replace the front bumpstops?
