| Post subject: | Winch setup ?? |
I am new here to the forums since i have recently purchased my first jeep, a 2012 Liberty. I have taken it off road on some of the unlimited number of trails we have down here in FL. I am eager to improve upon what is a very fun ride through the forest. My first though is the need for a winch. It seems most everyone uses the detour setup. most go with 12k lb winches. Understanding I am a newbie here, is there any reason for getting such a large winch or is this overkill? Are there any other options for adding a winch setup to the liberty? |

Some bumpers coming out but for now the detours is a great option Winch size should be 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle at least |

I have a Detoures backbone winch mount installed on mine. These things are built VERY well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one. Here it is on my KK ![]() Here's how it arived ![]() ![]() The winch plate is 5/16" thick and mounts up like you won't believe. It can also be added onto and transformed into a bumper. |
