OK every one, we finally have a fix available to us!!!

First I must give props to Scar0 for making me get on the trail to find this.

Letters should be in the mail starting mid March. From what I can tell, the replacement part is a new fuel tank and pump..

Great News!
You will get a new tank and a new "O" ring for the pump, when they put it back together.

O RING-FUEL PUMP AND LEVEL UNIT - [CNRSX461AA]

Chrysler customer service has it on record , but I don't think some dealers are smart enough to find it.....

It is not a TSB, It is a lifetime warranty extension. There are 2 KA owners who have already had this done in the last 2 days.

When I looked up the part #, the description says O RING-FUEL PUMP AND LEVEL UNIT
The description is the same for just the "O" ring # 55366298AA, but the price it way out there.
$16.73 for the "O" ring #, and $87.17 for the part you listed. Maybe they will replace the fuel pump as well. BONUS!

This is great! Does this lifetime warranty extension only apply to the original owner, or would a person who got their KK used, like I did, still qualify for the warranty extension? (I know the regular power train lifetime warranty doesn't apply to me.)

Its only taken a few years of constant nagging and complaining, but hey at least they're making it right. Just got off the phone with the dealership here in Sioux Falls, and Chrysler is only sending them 3 parts a week....so I'm on a waiting list to get mine serviced. I was told it'll probably be a few weeks at the least before they can get me in. :ALONE:

It should cover the vehicle for the rest of its lifetime no matter who the owner is

I just got off the phone with my local dealer. They have no record of anything needing to be replaced on my 08 KK. Thoughts? Ideas?

Are you having an issue with the fuel tank overflowing when you fill it? If so, print out the letter above and show them. If they still won't fix it then either go to a different dealer or call Chrysler corporate. They don't like dealerships making them look bad and the dealer doesn't like loosing stars from their rating. If it were me, I'd be a thorn in their paw. :2cents:

Here is a link to download a copy of the PDF file

Here is a little quote from one of my emails I sent to another member:

Quote:
A warranty extension has been granted on the inlet check valve. Letters should be in the mail starting Mid March. As far as I know, this info has not leaked down to the dealer network yet. I called my local dealer and they stated that they could not find any record of a new TSB, Recall, or X46. The service writer then advised me to call Chrysler customer care at 1800 992 1997.

After I got through to a live operator, she pulled my VIN and confirmed that there was some sort of warranty extension. At that point she then gave me a vague explanation of the X46.

Now one of the the things that could have confused mt dealer is he said that there was some sort of California emissions warranty coding on my Jeep that made it look like it was a vehicle that was purchased in California. When I told him it was a special order Jeep for Colorado, he said I don't know.

Gotcha. I kind of figured this hadn't leaked down to the dealer yet. Thanks for the link. I'll drop in there tomorrow. :)

If there are any issues, just call 1 800 992 1997. That is the number for Chrysler Customer Care..

And to those of you that have 2009 and new KK's: If your having the same problem, call the number above. If your with in the 3 year 36,000 Mile mark, you shouldn't have to make a call at all.

If the dealer doesn't want to play, make a call and this is what Chryco customer service will do:

1. Take your info
2. Create a case file
3. Assign it to a regional case manager for review
4. Make a decision.

If you go this route, make sure to document every name and number!

The only TSB for KJ's is titled "Hard To Fill With Fuel Or Fuel Nozzle Shuts Off Repeatedly"

The only other vehicle I see that they have issues a TSB for burping fuel is the JK "Fuel Spit Back During Refueling (X32/X47 Warranty Extension Unlimited Time And Mileage)
