Just rummaged through the forum a bit and didn't quite find what I was looking for.

I'm considering saving a few pennies and getting a LED light bar for the front of my roof rack. I'm looking to get into the 30-40" range, but can't afford the >$1000 Rigid bar

Anyone ever hear of Tuff Stuff, MicTuning, or know of any other brand that's afforable? I know cheap is expensive and live by it. Just poking around to see if it's the one time theres an exception

Cheap chinese led's are just that- cheap. Lots of people can't afford a good 30-40" led light bar so you're not alone.
I'd look into getting two smaller led lights that are good quality like visionx or rigid industries. Two small high quality lights will have more output than one big p.o.s. bar. Plus they'll have some sort of warranty. Sorry to be so blunt but thats just the way it is.

No worries, I completely understand. I stand by the buy once cry once lifestyle and I was wondering if there are actually any quality bars at a cheaper price. I may go with 2 10"-15" Rigids after all, just gotta save a lotta pennies :juggle:

My one 20" Vision X EVO Prime LED bar puts out about as much light as those cheap 40" LED bars.

Tj, do you like the LED bars? Or do you think going old school with 4 KC lights up top is better?

His one light bar probably puts out as much light as around 10 individual 55w halogen lights and will last much longer.

That and it takes way less amperage to run them
I have two 3 inch square LEDs on the front bumper testing them out. They take 1.34 amps each to run
double row 12 inch takes 6 amps

Yeah they are much better then old scholl halogen or even HID offroad lights.

I have 2 LED lightbars, both have twelve 10watt LED's,and put out about 11,000 lumens which is about 6.5 amps.Your average 65watt highbeam bulb is about 900 lumens and 4-5 amps itself.

How are they with the pattern though? I know with the old school lights, you can put 4 up top with the outers aimed out a little and give a flood like pattern with spot lights.

Sorry for the dumb questions. I'm just trying to learn more about the LEDs and get opinions.

Many of them you can order with all flood or spot
One company I know of (www.jasperoffroad.com ) has them with floods on the outside and spots in the middle section give you the best of both
They handle a couple of different kinds

Hey that's that hotel that never opened next to Hollywood Theaters isn't it? Looks very familiar . The output on that light is awesome.

There is also tuffledlights.com. made in the USA, shipped from Colorado.

Note: there is a seller on amazon called "mictuning" that apparently sells Chinese knockoff versions using tuffledlights graphics. Right down to the yellow warning label about how mictuning isn't an authorized dealer. ROFL!

But if you go to the tuffledlights website then you will get the real deal. I'm thinking about getting the 42" Supernova light bar myself.
