So i have this Banging noise in the read end of my KK. This ONLY happens when going off roading and sometimes over speed bumps at speeds over say 10mph. The noise is kind of like a thud, it doesnt sound like metal on metal or anything. It happens when going over rocks and holes in the ground. I took a quick look and everything seems tight. I did notice on my Shock Boot if i squeezed the bottom of the boot that some water came out which i got it all out. I dont know if this would cause it. Any ideas?

Its the spacers in the rear. There is nothing keeping the spacer and the spring together and when you go over a bump they separate a little and that's the clang you hear. I get the same thing. You didn't have the noise before your lift right ...

If your using stock length rear shocks that will cause a banging sound when you kill them from being to short.

I had the sane banging issue and I found it. It was the cargo storage hatch that was banging over the bumps. I removed it and lined the edge with foam weather stripping. No more clunking in my rear end. Remove your cargo hatch and go for a rip and see if you had the same issue as me.

I have the 2.5" Skyjackers so that shouldnt be it. Ya i was thinking the spacers maybe and no it wasnt happening before. You mean the hatch that covers the scissor jack? The plastic one?

My banging was the hatch in the middle of the cargo area above the spare.

My banging was the hitch draw bar. I pulled it out of the hitch and the sound went away. Just a thought.

well i checked underneath near the Axle and nothing seems loose or out of place. I pushed up and down on the rear bumper to get the rear bouncing and all i heard was the shocks, no bumping noise. Maybe it is the coils coming off of the spacer, but then why wouldnt the same thing happen with the lower isolator when i didnt have the lift?

It's not the coils coming off the spacers. Don't listen to him. There isn't enuf travel to fully extend the coil so it pops off the spacer.

I don't have the rear tray in so I know its not coming from that. It sounds like its coming from the suspension and I didn't have it before the lift. I've checked all the nuts and bolts and I know nothing is loose. The only thing I can come up with is the spacer block and spring moving around a little.

What shocks are you running? I have noticed that washers are needed to shim the upper shock mount.....
