Called up my dealership to ask about the fuel burping fix for the KK. I've had it as an intermittent issue, mostly when I fill up at Costco, but its enough to be annoying. My understand was that if you have the problem they fix it. Well the dealership told me it would be $125 for them to diagnose the problem and if they determined that it was the part Chrysler indicated then they would fix that for no cost. I would still have to be the diagnostic fee though. Also, if they found anything else wrong I'd have to pay to have all of that fixed too. Anyone else get a similar answer when trying to have this fixed?

Go to a new dealership. They dont need to troubleshoot a recall and should not be charging you anything for a recall either.

Lame.
Give corporate a call, let them know your experience, and see what they think about it.

I just had mine done a few weeks ago. I didnt have any issues. Went in with my info and vin, they looked it up, and then had me set up to have it done in a few days when they had the parts and time. No money or issues. I would do as infernicus said, call them up about that dealership. They will be calling you back begging to do it. Chrysler is huge on keeping a good rep within their dealerships

Ma Mopar will take care of you. Just give corporate a call or shoot them an email. I like email, as then I have records. My dealership was more than happy to do the recall on that. Personally, I'd drive to the next closest dealer and inform the service manager of what your dealership has been doing to you. They *should* be more than happy to take on a new customer, even if it is for warranty work right now. And corporate should have no problems with you moving to another dealer. Who knows, your dissatisfaction could be what gets corporate to do something about that particular dealer. Especially if you are one of many they get complaints from.
Good luck.

Not the first time I've had issues like that at the Jeep Dealership near me. I have an appointment to go in to have the same issue resolved on monday morning, and if they try to do the same thing to me I'm just going to tell them that what they're doing is dishonest and unethical and they've lost me as a customer for my maintenance. There are plenty of other places I can get my service done.

Go to a different dealer fast!!

As per the service letter that went to the dealers, it states this:

DIAGNOSIS: If the customer describes the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure. Basically, there is nothing for them to diagnose. In earlier documents before the X46, there was a procedure to test the operation of the evap can, but 9 times out of 10 it is the tank that needs to be replaced.

As far as other work, they can't just fix it and then charge you unexpectedly. You have the right to authorize what work you want done.

Just got off the phone with Cheryl at Jeep and she informed me that I only have an extended warranty on the inlet check valve, not on the valve inside the fuel tank (she said it was X47). Due to this she said the dealership was correct and they would have to perform the diagnostic to check which valve was malfunctioning. If they found it was the one in the fuel tank it wouldn't be covered, and no matter what I would have to pay for the diagnostic.

I would defiantly look for another dealership. I know the one in my area hasn't given anyone any hassle. I've even had people come in to the ford dealership I work at (bought it used from there) and had it sent over and fixed with no issue.
